Book Dispensing Machines

I was amazed to find that Book Dispensing Machines - holding 300 or more paperback books - have existed in Europe and in USA for several years.

It is a way of bringing books to the people in various locations without creating a branch library.

These machines are located at places that large numbers of people pass through each day - such as train stations, subways, malls etc.

The machines can even be located in exterior walls of libraries allowing patrons 24/7 access to some library books.

People use their library cards to access the machines and select a book from the machine's inventory.  They also return the book to the machine.
