Sealers Memorial - Statue & Interpretation Centre - Elliston, Newfoundland

The Home from the Sea Capital Campaign is over half way to the goal of  raising $2 million dollars in support of a Sealers Memorial and Interpretation Centre in the town of Elliston, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Please visit the following website to learn more.
This project, which includes a memorial sculpture and surrounding memorial site, as well as an interpretation centre and walking path, will commemorate the lives lost in the two sealing disasters of 1914.

The campaign will honour all sealers who have made tremendous sacrifices, it will acknowledge their contribution to our province and our people, and it will help shape our future as we continue to build awareness and education

On Thursday, 26 April, I will be attending the "Top Chef Seal of Approval Dinner" fund-raising event and enjoy a 5-course all seal meal dinner created by 5 of our most out-standing chefs.
